6:00–7:00 PM CTLucy Winton Bell Field · Field 4

60-minute practice plan

Elapsed time from 6pm CT

Know the defensive jobs, finish flag pulls, and repeat short passes with a quick pump fake into the opposite window.

01

Movement + flag warm-up

Shuffle, break down, watch the hips, and finish each rep with a clean flag pull

02

Defensive assignments

Place LC, LLB, RLB, RC, and S; corners keep outside leverage, linebackers protect the middle, safety stays deepest

03

Flag-pulling circuit

Near-hip pulls, sideline leverage, and two-defender pursuit; find the real ball instead of chasing the fake

04

Offensive alignment + cadence

Under center, clean spacing, Ready… Set… HUT. Review the positions shown for each series

05

Quick + Slant · pump fake teaching

Practice receiver spacing and quick throws. On Center Away: one small pump fake toward the short WR, reset feet, then throw to C in the opposite open window. C releases at the snap. On the base call, take the open first throw without adding a fake

06

Unicorn reps + mirrored runs

Practice clean exchanges. Rep Draw's pass look and delayed handoff, then Dash or Toss from Unicorn and Twins

07

Water + assignments

Players name their position for the next series; use the names shown on the interactive field

08

Scripted play period

Start with offense Series 1–3. Run four clean reps, then rotate; continue only as time allows. With nine players, use the four resting players as defense

09

Four-play finish

One run and three short passes, then review defensive jobs and team cheer

  1. 01

    Base 2–2–1

Pita (S) · Stay deepest, read the quarterback, and keep every route in front.

  2. 02

    Left middle

Hannah (LLB) · Protect the inside-left lane. Find the real ball, not the fake; close on the ball carrier and pull the flag.

  3. 03

    Right middle

Joni (RLB) · Protect the inside-right lane. Find the real ball, not the fake; close on the ball carrier and pull the flag.

  4. 04

    Outside leverage

Addie (LC) · Both corners protect the edge and force the ball back toward the middle help.

Next group: 2. The other side keeps its place.

Read the real ball

No quarterback rush for 3rd/4th grade. Cross the line after a real handoff or backward pitch/lateral, not a fake. React to the pass and pull flags without contact.

Create throws at short, medium, and deeper levels, with quick opportunities into open space. Keep routes spaced and be ready for the early throw.

Defense 6:00–6:15. Use the four resting offensive players for 5-on-4 practice; the five-player defensive groups are an assignment reference, not a simultaneous second team. Start the play period at offense Series 1 and continue as time allows.

Defense cue: See ball. Stay home. Pull flags.
